It occurs naturally and has many important functions, including limits the entry of pathogens, proteins and proteases, stimulates the proliferation of fibroblasts, is an inducer of the synthesis of endogenous HA, collagen and elastin, protects cells against free radicals, and also has immunoregulatory functions. Due to its properties in cosmetology, it is used primarily in the treatment of wrinkles. In recent years, however, hyaluronic acid has started to be used in tissue engineering to regenerate tissue defects. Key words: hyaluronic acid, cosmetology, tissue engineering |
