Considering the fact that the skin is the largest organ of the human is not surprising the fact that people attach great importance to its care. This trend utilizes cosmetic industry and pharmaceutical industry offering more and more products for the care and hygiene of the skin. It is estimated that currently the fastest growing group of skin care segment products are cosmeceuticals. Aim. In the study attempts to determine the impact of cosmeceuticals for hydration and lubrication of the epidermis. Materials and methods. Five products designed for atopic skin were tested, using as a measuring instrument suitable corneometer and sebumetr. Results. The results conclude that cosmeceuticals designed for atopic skin meet the criteria that are set down for them, such as: rebuilding the epidermal barrier and moisturizes and nourishes dry skin.
