Summary
Introduction. Inadequate lubrication of human skin leads to disequilibrium in the balance of water and lipid metabolism, and consequently to the degradation of the fibers responsible for skin firmness and elasticity. A review of the literature shows that bee products have a excellent nutritional properties. The royal jelly, which has a beneficial effect on the skin tonic and improves its moisture and elasticity, was paid to the particular attention. The market analysis of the composition of the moisturizing creams has shown there is no products with royal jelly.
Aim. The role of the royal jelly in shaping useful properties of moisturizing creams was investigated. The useful and physicochemical properties was analyzed.
Materials and methods. The base recipe was developed and cream samples containing the royal jelly was prepared. The physicochemical and useful properties: dynamic viscosity, the stability, sensory properties was carry out. Depending on the content of the royal jelly in the samples moisturizing properties was examined.
Results. Addition of the lyophilized royal jelly demonstrate reduction in dynamic viscosity of samples as against the base emulsion. After applying the cream with royal jelly the degree of hydration of the stratum corneum is much higher than in a base cream. The highest values and the lowest decrease moisture at the same time at samples with 1% of the royal jelly was observed. The most preferred consumer evaluation received creams with 0,5% and 1% of the royal jelly.
Conclusion. The creams with addition of the royal jelly has demonstrated the acceptability of application properties. The influence of the royal jelly on the skin condition, the effect with other ingredients was observed. The royal jelly can be used in addition to the moisturizing creams.
