Hyaluronic acid is present in all living organisms. Its quantity decreases with age, which results in skin aging - the formation of wrinkles, a significant reduction in skin elasticity and tension. Aim. The aim of this paper is to present the effectiveness of hyaluronic acid in the treatment of face wrinkles. Material and method. The questionnaire study was conducted in the group of 50 female patients, who underwent the procedure of hyaluronic acid injection in the face wrinkles. The questionnaire included 24 questions. Results. The most frequent area injected with hyaluronic acid was nasolabial folds. Most of patients (88%) noticed the reduction of face wrinkles after the procedure. In almost half of patients (48%) the effect of acid injection has been observable for 6-12 months. Conclusions. The procedure of hyaluronic acid injection to the area of face wrinkles is effective method of their reduction. The effect of this can last for 12 months. The reduction of face wrinkles has positive effect on patients´ well-being and quality of life. Key words: wrinkles, hyaluronic acid, effectiveness |
