Summary
Mesotherapy is a therapeutic method, currently adapted to the needs of aesthetic medicine. It can be used on various parts of the body, i.e. face, neck, cleavage, stomach, thighs and buttocks, as well as on the scalp. It gives dermatologists the possibility of multidirectional action due to the wide range of active ingredients and cocktails used for various ailments, such as scars, cellulite, stretch marks, alopecia and photoaging of the skin. There are 3 types of mesotherapy: needle-free, micro-needle, including micro-needle radiofrequency (RF), and needle. Depending on the indications, the mesotherapy treatment uses various active substances (separately or in the form of so-called cocktails) with medicinal properties. During the procedure, micro-injuries and micro-bleeding occur in the treatment area, which accelerates cell division and development. Mesotherapy also stimulates fibroblasts and stem cells present in the skin, stimulating the formation of elastin, collagen and hyaluronic acid. A properly prepared mesotherapy procedure minimizes the risk of side effects. The described side effects are usually transient inflammation with its basic symptoms, i.e. redness of the skin or prolonged swelling, or those that result from the interaction between several preparations applied simultaneously. Mesotherapy is therefore an effective way to fight many skin defects, not only women, but also men of all ages struggle.
