Cellulite (GLD ganoid lipodystrophy, female lipodystrophy) is not directly related to overweight. The etiology of cellulite is multifactorial. Hormonal disorders and liposclerosis are the main sources of danger. Currently cellulite anti-cellulite, mesotherapy, carboxytherapy, ultrasound liposuction, phonophoresis, lymphatic drainage and manual or mechanical massage (endermology) are used to reduce the cellulite symptoms. Moreover, a balanced diet is used and physical activity is included. Aim. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of active substances contained in the anti-cellulite preparation and massage on reducing the thigh circumference in young women with cellulite. Material and methods. 87 women aged 19-26 (mean age 23±0.6) participated in the study with visible symptoms of grade 2 cellulite in the area of thighs and buttocks. In all the subjects on the left thigh from the knee to the buttocks Nano Aqua+ was applied and it was allowed to fully absorb through the skin. On the right thigh, from the knee to the buttock, Nano Aqua+ was applied, followed by a massage using superficial and deep stroking techniques. The above procedure was carried out for a period of 2 months. Results. Within the thigh of the left limb, where the preparation was used without a massage, a slight reduction in the average thigh circumference was observed. On the other hand, in the thigh of the right limb, on which the preparation with simultaneous massage was used, a statistically significant reduction in the mean thigh circumference was noted. The average perimeter of the right limb, which was used synergistically with the preparation and massage, was significantly smaller after the end of the experiment than the left thigh circumference, on which only the preparation without massage was used. Conclusions. 1. The use of the anti-cellulite preparation in the area of the lower limbs did not significantly reduce thigh circumference. 2. The use of the anti-cellulite preparation associated with thigh massage showed a statistically significant reduction in its circumference. 3. The synergistic use of anti-cellulite and massage products seems to be more beneficial in the procedure aimed at reducing thigh circumference in women with cellulite.
