(Asteraceae) gaining more and more importance on the cosmetic market in Europe, including Poland. The chemical composition of the plant and composition-related broad cosmetic applications have been described. This information has been enriched with numerous examples of cosmetic preparations available on the Polish market. The biological activity and potential healing applications of the species have been characterized. Attention was also paid to the position of Sigesbeckia orientalis in traditional and modern Chinese medicine. In addition, another use of this species has been indicated - non-invasive soil detoxication. The aim of the article is to present a basic information about Sigesbeckia orientalis in the environment of cosmetologists and pharmacists.
