Alopecia is a chronic dermatological disorder in which people lose some or all of the hair in the head and sometimes of their body as well. The current standard of treatment for alopecia includes pharmacotherapy, hair transplant or platelet-rich plasma injection. Aim. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma injection in needle mesotherapy in patient suffering from alopecia. Material and methods. The analyzed group included 50 men with alopecia, who were qualified to platelet-rich plasma injection in needle mesotherapy. The patients´ age was from 28 to 47 years. The prepared questionnaire study included 22 questions. All men went one series of treatment, which consisted of 3 procedures. Results. Most of respondents (98%) evaluate undertaken treatment as positive method of therapy. The most common notified side effects were erythema and edema (92%). Eighty percent of respondents recommend platelet-rich plasma injection to other men with alopecia problem. Conclusion. Needle mesotherapy with platelet-rich plasma gives good effects of treatment. The most relevant side effect is pain. The procedure of platelet-rich plasma injection is recommended therapy in patient suffering from alopecia.
