Summary
The work presents, on the basis of a review of literature sources, the use of cosmetic plants in the process of wound healing. The selected group of flora analyzed in this work are plants accelerating wound healing, thanks to their action: anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant, antiseptic and disinfectant. The most frequently studied plants that can participate in the process of wound healing are: Achillea millefolium L. (Yarrow), Betula pendula Roth (Silver birch), Equisetum arvense L. (Equisetum arvense), Plantago lanceolata L. (Plantain), Plantago major L. p. str. (Plantain), Quercus robur L. (Pedunculate oak) and Quercus rubra L. (Red oak). The studies show that plant products can be used as potential agents for wound healing, due to their widespread availability, a small amount of undesirable effects and their overall effectiveness.
