Burnout in profession cosmetologist in opinion of managers cosmetology salons - report on quantitative research

Summary
Introduction. The occupational burnout concerns representatives of professions requiring high emotional involvement. In the past the authors conducted a qualitative study exploring the occurrence of this phenomenon among cosmetologists. The study was conducted among people who professionally dealt with the management of a team of cosmetologists - managers of beauty salons. Its results became a starting point for the results of quantitative research presented in this article.
Aim. Collect and conduct quantitative analysis of the opinions of managers of beauty salons on the phenomenon of the occupational burnout in the profession of cosmetologist.
Materials and methods. In order to gather the opinions of managers of beauty salons about the occupational burnout in the profession of the cosmetologist, a quantitative research was carried out using a questionnaire designed by authors. The study covered 75 managers of beauty salons from all over Poland.
Results. The managers indicated significant determinants, symptoms and methods for preventing occupational burnout among cosmetologists.
Conclusions. The activities of managers of cosmetology salons constitute important determinants of the occupational burnout. The managers have tools that can prevent occupational burnout to occure.
