Summary
Introduction. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are one of the most commonly used painkillers. They show many undesirable reactions, including skin lesions. We can include pruritus, erythema, Lyell syndrome, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, cutaneous bumps, swollen skin.
Aim. The aim of the study is to present the incidence of skin lesions in NSAID users and their morphological profile.
Material and method. The survey was conducted in the form of a questionnaire for 200 persons. They were carried out in the town and in the countryside in pharmacies.
Results. Of the 200 interviewed, 156 received a NSAID within the last 3 months. 19 of them developed skin lesions, including the life-threatening Steven-Johnson syndrome. The most common was skin pruritus. Skin lesions also coexisted with symptoms of other systems for example conjunctivitis or exacerbation of peptic ulcer.
Conclusions. Skin lesions are quite common in people taking NSAIDs. Patients, however, are unaware of the scale of the problem, as only 10 out of 19 have sought help from a doctor.

Key words: NSAID, skin lesion
