Fungal infection in the cosmetologist´s practice

Summary
Onychomycosis is a common dermatological nail organ disease Accordingly, the isolated section called medical mycology, which involves the diagnosis and treatment of fungal infections. This is a common object of interest for many specialties in medicine, including cosmetology. Cosmetic surgeries are often the first place where the assessment of the nail ends with suspected fungal infection. Dermatological clinics also report patients who regularly use the services of cosmetology. The role of the cosmetologist is patient education on the prevention of infections that cause onychomycosis as well as perform a safe treatment on a healthy nail plate. Disinfection and sterilization of instruments used for a manicure or pedicure is in this area of vital importance. Given that the quality of life of people infected with ringworm is considerably reduced and the fact that the disease is usually long and is recurrent, raising awareness of patients is very important. Each person using the services of beauty salons, where the nail plate sis treated should get tips on how to take care and how to prevent fungal infections. The article presents the factors of development of onychomycosis, its symptoms, attention was paid to the quality of life of people affected by this infection, and above all, the role of cosmetologist in the principles of nail care have been taken on as well as prevention and possibilities of disinfection and sterilization of instruments. Through the discussion of all these aspects we know how to prevent the development of fungal infection in the nail.
