Sensory evaluation of creams DIY (Do It Yourself) containing nanosilver and natural cosmetic ingredients

Summary
Introduction. The concept of acne vulgaris is associated with pilo-sebaceous apparatus and the problem affects 80% of adolescents, 25% of whom require a visit to a dermatologist. Changes may recur after the age of 25 years and during menopause. Folliculitis is an inflammatory reaction in the superficial aspect of the hair follicle through the entire length of the hair up to its surroundings. These changes localized in the face and head concern mainly men. In women they involve primarily the groins and lower legs.
Aim. The aim of the study was sensory and application evaluation of DIY care creams produced on natural ingredients (certified by Ecocert) in subjects affected with acne vulgaris and folliculitis.
Material and methods. The study included 15 subjects with acne vulgaris and folliculitis. The testers evaluated the creams in terms of uniformity, consistency, distribution, tackiness and absorption in the 5-point scale. It was also assessed whether the target effect of the reduction of acne lesions and folliculitis was achieved.
Results and conclusions. It has been shown that the cream formulations are effective in the care of skin with acne vulgaris and folliculitis.
