Summary
Cosmetology salons are places where the beauty and care procedures are performed on the human body by cosmetologists. The provision of cosmetic services must ensure the safety of health of the clients. This should be regulated by unequivocal and transparent rules. Due to the expiry of the Regulation of the Minister of Health of 17 February 2004 and the lack of clear sanitary regulations dedicated to cosmetic services, the establishment of hygienic procedures to protect against the transmission of infection requires staff to be familiar with a variety of legal acts (laws, regulations) containing general regulations.
The most important legal acts currently in force in Poland are presented: acts and regulations, including hygienic and sanitary requirements in cosmetology services.
The owners and staff of cosmetology salons need to demonstrate the knowledge of many legal acts which are the base to maintain hygiene and sanitary standards in the exercise of their professional duties. Undoubtedly, facilitating this type of activity would be the introduction of a single legal document that would include a full range of hygiene and sanitary requirements in cosmetic services.
