Cutaneous manifestations of HIV infection

Summary
The number of people infected with HIV has been growing. This virus causes tremendous damages in the human body. The body, unable to defend, is attacked by numerous pathogens, even those which will not cause any medical problem in healthy people. Although new drugs significantly extend the lives of HIV-positive people and improve their comfort, they still have to contend with a number of diseases, including dermatological illness. Cutaneous manifestations of HIV infection increase malaise patients and lower self-esteem. Knowledge of skin infections associated with HIV is essential in the cosmetologist proffession, not just to protect from exposure to the virus, but mainly because, to raise public awareness about the disease. Knowledge of cutaneous manifestations of internal diseases can contribute to saving or even the extension of human life.
