Summary
Cosmetology is an interdisciplinary science that is growing rapidly and is always looking for more and better ways to improve the appearance and condition of the skin. For this reason, over the last few years it can be seen more interest "intelligent cosmetics" which is based on the latest scientific achievements, including innovative biotechnological solutions. In this way, they are opening up opportunities to create more effective formulations whose composition is enriched with valuable content biologically active substances, like cytokines. It has been observed that their presence exacerbates the regenerative processes and increase protein synthesis, which improves the appearance of the skin. This is due to the transmission of signals by the cells which actively stimulate the secretion of active ingredients. Hence, cytokines are used in the prevention and anti-aging skin. This article presents the classification, function, mechanism of action of these biologically active molecules and the most important for cosmetology cytokines acting on the skin.

Key words: cytokines, growth factors, skin, fibroblasts
