New microencapsulated colorants for cosmeticsZygmunt Boruszczak, Anna Marzec Instytut Technologii Polimerów i Barwników, Politechnika Łódzka Summary The synthesis of coloring agents was carried out by microencapsulation of oil solutions (dibutyl sebacate), natural and synthetic dyes such as lutein, β-carotene, paprika oleoresin, riboflavin, chlorophyll and Solvent Red 169. The process uses a polymerization reaction of terephthaloyl chloride (CTL) and diethylenetriamine (DETA), carried out on the border of the oil and water phase. The microencapsulated pigments obtained from the reaction were tested for resistance to water, sweat fluids, common organic solvents and light. Microcapsules filled with solutions of chlorophyll and riboflavin were found suitable for coloring of cosmetic products. Key words: cosmetic pigments, microencapsulation, natural dyes |
