Deformation within the first toe called hallux valgus occupies a prominent place among the diseases of civilization. Among the reasons cited are a variety of factors, the first place extends generally incorrect selection of footwear and genetic predisposition. Hallux valgus is a disorder that is increasingly largely plagued patients, especially women, so it is important to know the etiology, pathogenesis, treatment and rehabilitation procedure, enabling effective solution to this problem and to restore patients to full, normal physical activity. Aim. The purpose of this thesis is to determine the role of cosmetology in non-invasive treatments of hallux valgus. Material and methods. Research technique used in this thesis is a survey. Survey questionnaire includes 25 questions closed and semi-open. The survey was conducted among 100 women aged over 30 years that used services of the Department of Natural Medicine Irena in Połczyn Zdrój. Results. Research showed that non-invasive treatments such as ultrasonic wave and correction apparatus (Orthotics, insoles silicone) largely contribute to restore mobility of people with hallux valgus and assist them in their day-to-day operation. Test results confirmed and have proven that a significant number of women have that deformation in the age of 30. Conclusions. Most of the women decided a non-invasive method of treatment because of the fear and anxiety associated with surgery. Respondents found orthotics effectiveness as a treatment for non-invasive treatment than the shock wave or laser. Women´s knowledge about prevention was satisfactory. Significant relationship was found between age of the respondents and their self-confidence and the age and the presence of pain and lower self-esteem health.
