Cosmetology in reducing the effects of pregnancy in the context of behavior of health

Summary
Introduction. The changes that occur during pregnancy are the result of the woman´s body adaptation to the development of the fetus growing in it. Immunological, hormonal or metabolic changes have very big impact on the appearance of the women´ skin after childbirth. The skin undergoes a number of adverse changes, becomes oily, limp and there are stretch marks that remain long after the birth.
Aim. The main aim of this study was to evaluate changes of the skin of women with a history of pregnancies. The specific objective was to evaluate the role of cosmetology treatments to help improve skin condition, in conjunction with the health behavior of women.
Material & methods. The study involved 114 women in the period from 1 month to 3 years after birth. The subjects were aged 19 to 45 years, being from 1 up to 4 deliveries.
Conclusions. Women who indicate better material situations often attended beauty salons to improve their skin´s condition. This group mainly chose treatments such as massages or peelings. Group mainly indicate theirs tights as a part of their body that needs a special care, they also indicate the need of cosmetic treatments at home. The studies´ results did not showed an dependence between BMI, place of living and a frequency of the cosmetics treatments.
