Skin changes in anorexia and bulimia

Summary
Eating disorders are a group of psychopathological disorders. Among the main form of eating disorder can be distinguished: specific eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia) and non-specific eating disorders. Changes in the skin and its appendages, mucous membranes and oral cavity accompany patients with eating disorders. They result from starvation, vomiting provokation, reception of laxatives, diuretics, measures to accelerate the metabolism and drugs. Skin lesions often arise from self-harm. Early diagnosis, prevention and taking care can accelerate a quick return to health.
