Bees, due to their hard work, produce honey that is rich in valuable active ingredients. There are many types of honey with various and different cosmetic effects: perfectly moisturize and improve skin tone, or even reduce inflammation in case of problematic skin. Honey has accompanied human being for centuries. Its medicinal properties were already known in ancient times, when it was used as a cure for wounds as an antiseptic and a strong cleanser. The quality of this unique product has been increasingly explored over the years. Nowadays, modern medicine uses properties of Manuka honey in the treatment of many skin diseases, burns, sores, and in increasing the healing of slow-healing wounds. Therefore, the cosmetic industry took care of it, that this unique product appeared on the shelves of drugstores, pharmacies and beauty salons. Due to the hygroscopic, antiseptic and osmotic properties and features, honey is used in the production of creams, lotions, soaps, shampoos, conditioners. In addition, the beneficial and valuable effects of honey can be achieved by cosmetic recipes that can be prepared at home using widely available ingredients such as milk or lemon. Its properties are also used in cosmetic treatments in the form of nutrient masks, baths and massages made of honey in order to improve firmness and skin tone.
