Summary
Increased volume of the produced androgens, tumors, enlarged activity of alpha-reductase or sensibility of androgen receptors in the target tissues are the reasons of hyperandrogenism, i.e. increased level of androgens. Both skin and sebaceous glands are suitable for production and metabolism of the androgens. Improper functioning of the whole enzymatic system and consequently excessively high androgens concentration in a blood is observable mainly in young women. This results in appearance of acne changes or excessive hirsutism (hypertrichosis). The increased androgens level may also result in the androgenic male or female pattern hair-loss. This work exactly describes the hyper-androgenism related dermal changes and also presents many methods, proposed by today cosmetology, fighting such hyper-androgenism related dermal changes.

Key words: androgens, acne, hair-loss, hirsutism, hypetrichosis
