B. Czecha w Krakowie Summary Aging is a physiological process that concerns all living organisms. Skin aging is influenced by many endogenous and exogenous factors. The modern level of knowledge of broadly understood cosmetology allows slowing down that process. Cosmetology is an interdisciplinary science that uses many scientific disciplines. Behind it lies a significant potential for the use of this knowledge in practice. Current cosmetology offers a wide range of services by using a broad spectrum of preparations assisted by physical methods. A competent cosmetologist, in addition to a professional performance of the procedure, should have the ability to convey the information about prevention concerning home care, diet or lifestyle. The skin of a mature woman (40 +) requires a special approach. Both the diversity of preparations and equipment capabilities provide an opportunity for reducing the first signs of skin aging and for the use of so-called anti-aging treatments. The proposals of in-office treatments and preparations for home care include the area of the face, neck and neckline as well as body, hands and feet.
