Pol J Cosmetol 2014, 17(2): 158-164pl  Analysis of the coherence of declared properties of cosmetics with their INCI composition on the example of NIVEA Sensitive rangePaulina Malinowska Katedra Technologii i Analizy Instrumentalnej, Wydział Towaroznawstwa, Uniwersytet Ekonomiczny w Poznaniu Summary In this work the analysis of cosmetic claims available on packagings of NIVEA Sensitive products was conducted and the coherence of declared properties with chemical composition of products (according to INCI names) was evaluated. The analysis showed that the claims concerning the target group, effects and results of application of tested products are properly matched to the real needs of the target group - people with sensitive skin. In the claims on packagings of tested cosmetics, the properties of the active substance do not appear, in contrast to packagings of competitive products. Declared properties, effects and results of application of cosmetics refer to the whole formulas, not only to single included ingredients.
