Summary
There is no doubt that our skin, as the largest organ of the body, needs a balanced diet (containing proteins, carbohydrates, lipids and other important components in proper proportions) to be able to fulfill all its functions. The proper diet intersperses in turn on the vital conditions of hair and nails. There are many components, such as: vitamins, calcium, iron, zinc, herbs, proteins and other food additives, that would ensure full and glossy hair, and strong beautiful nails. Nowadays, we have no time to prepare balanced meals, as a result we eat processed food. Therefore, the usage of nutriceuticals could be an alternative. Nutriceuticals are a hybrid of nutrients and pharmaceuticals. They may play an important role on skin´s (and the products of its) physiology. They are categorized as prebiotics, probiotics, antioxidants, types of herbals, sun protective nutrients and others. We have a wide range of nutriceuticals in the pharmacy field, so we could have a problem to choose the most appropriate ones for a variety of skin problems. On that account, we should accurately know the effects of the micronutrients contained in nutriceutics.
