Summary
Introduction. Endermologie is a type of soft tissue massage performed by special device which has a function of skin holding under pressure. This method can be used in body silhouette modeling, in patients with cellulite or flaccid skin to reduce those defects.
Aim. The aim of this paper is to determine the influence of endermologie on body modeling in women who underwent such procedures, on the basis of conducted body measurements.
Material and method. The study was performed in the group of 74 women who underwent the course of endermologie massages. In every patient the following measurements before and after procedures were carried out: the body height and weight, the waist, hips and thighs circumferences.
Results. The statistical analysis revealed significant reduction of body weight and all circumferences (waist, hips, and thighs) before and after endermologie.
Conclusions. The endermologie massages substantially reduced body circumferences (waist, hips, and thighs), body weight and BMI in examined group. The performed study suggests that endermologie is effective method of body silhouette modeling.
