Effect of the burdock to the condition of the skin

Summary
Cosmetic preparations whose composition is based on natural substances are the subject of increasing interest because of the effect of the skin, wide range, and the small risk of side effects. Species of the genus Arctium L. has long been used in skin and rheumatic ailments in recent years have been widely studied. In medicine, mainly Bardanae radix, also the leaves and fruit are used. Recent studies in vitro and in vivo indicate that burdock exhibits antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, so may have effect on skin lesions in dermatological diseases, delay the aging process and the elimination of toxins from the body. In contrast to the prolonged and widespread use, lack of clinical studies proving the efficacy of this substances.
