Skin lesions, like moles or ulcerations, are one of the most common reasons why patients visit doctors. Possible pathological changes are variable. Most of skin lesions are benign, do not require treatment and will not turn into malignant change. But for many patients such lesions cause aesthetic problem, which can be camouflage in different ways. Aim. The aim of this paper is to verify the knowledge presented by cosmetology students about skin lesions and possible health consequences connected with them. Also we tried to systemize activities, which should be introduced by cosmetologist when she observes alarming lesions on the client´s skin. Material and method. The questionnaire studies were performed in the group of 60 students from Cosmetology Department. Respondents´ age ranged from 21 to 30 years old. Results. Each student answered positively to the question if she pays attention to skin lesions on clients´ body during performing cosmetic procedure. Almost all questionnaired students declared that they always inform client about their observation and advise them to consult a doctor. Conclusions. Results of conducted questionnaire provide the preventive role of cosmetologists in identifying suspicious skin lesions in clients undergoing cosmetic procedures in beauty parlors.
