Summary
Aim. There were produced oral solid forms of a drug of non-modified and modified release profile. Dry plant extracts of scientifically proved aphrodisiac and adaptogenic activity, amino acid salts with biometals and vitamins were the biologically active substances.
Material and methods. A few versions of formulated tablets were obtained containing dry plant extracts (Schisandra chinensis, Panax ginseng, Muira puama, Paullinia cupana), zinc and magnesium hydrogen aspartate and pyridoxine hydrochloride. These versions differed in the composition of adjuvant substances. Morphological and technological parameters of the produced tablets were determined. Basing on spectrophotometric measurements pharmaceutical availability was determined of biologically active substances from the above preparations.
Results. Tablets of non-modified release profile (30 min) contained such adjuvant substances as, among others: Ludipress, Karion, Polyplasdone XL-25. Tablets of modified release time (prolongatum) contained, among others: Carbopol 71 GNF, Prosolv SMCC 50 and Vivapur 112. All formulation versions of tablets presented morphological and technological parameters in accordance with the binding standards.
Conclusions. 1. The presence of microrystalline cellulose in the prescription composition causes sorption of biologically active substances on its surface. 2. The presence of lactose and sorbitol in the prescription composition supports dissolution of biologically active substances in acceptor fluid. 3. The presence of acrylic acid polymers (Carbopol 71 GNF) in the prescription composition prolongs the release of biologically active substances from the drug form. 4. The presence of silicified cellulose (Prosolv SMCC 50) in the prescription composition significantly inhibits the kinetics of release of biologically active substances from the prolongatum form.
