Summary
The developed surface of carbon layers consists of micrometric or nanometric grains which are called carbon powders. Diamond powders belong to carbon powders. Very few studies on carbon powders in respect of their pharmaceutical-cosmetic and medical applications have been carried out. The nanocrystalline diamond powder is an antioxidant, i.e. a substance which combats free radicals responsible for skin aging, besides it exhibits exfoliative (abrasive) properties and gives some shine (brightness). Diamond powder is used for decorative purposes and as an active substance. Presently, it is used in cosmetic industry.
