Karola Marcinkowskiego w Poznaniu Summary Aim. In this study an attempt was made to compare the competence of a certified cosmetologist with a Bachelor"s degree and a cosmetician with a diploma and also to display differences in their educational level. Material and methods. In order to compare the competence of cosmetologists and cosmeticians a questionnaire of 20 enclosed questions concerning cosmetology and skin disease problems was created. Results. The results indicate that the cosmetologists with a Bachelor´s degree estimate their knowledge of skin disease problems much better. Conclusions. 1. Cosmetologists" educational process during the Bachelor"s degree studies provides a significantly more detailed knowledge than a cosmeticians" educational process in a 2-year system. 2. An according to the law designation of both cosmetologists" and cosmeticians" qualifications and also their competence demarcation is deeply endeavoured.
