Baranowski Wyższa Szkoła Zawodowa Łódzkiej Korporacji Oświatowej w Łodzi Summary Despite the fact that Marcel Grateau contributed to development of the hairdressing there is no biographic article devoted to him in Polish literature on cosmetology. In Polish manuals of the hairdressing not only fragmentary information about his life are presented but also misinformation about his professional achievements are strengthened. The aim of the article is presentation of Grateau Marcel´s biography as well as correction misinformation about his professional achievements that were given by Polish manuals of the hairdressing.
