Summary
Aim. This study is aimed at evaluation of rheological parameters of produced hydrogels with the examined derivatives of lactobionic acid and determination of the effects of those parameters on pharmaceutical availability of selected lactobionate derivatives.
Methods. The study of pharmaceutical availability of selected derivatives of lactobionic acid was carried out by the membrane method, using a semi-permeable membrane of cellophane type, of standard pore dimension 25Å. The kinetics of the medicinal agent release in relevant time intervals to external compartment were tested using a complexometric method.
Results. The obtained results indicate that the kinetics of release to isitonic solution of sodium chloride were the slowest for the model hydrogel with cooper lactobionate. The process was the most dynamic for the preparation which contains cobalt derivative.
Conclusions. The examined hydrogels are non-Newtonian fluids diluted during shearing, without the flow limit. The release of lactobionic acid derivatives depends on hydrogel rheological properties.
