Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), also known as autologous conditioned plasma, is a concentrate of platelet-rich plasma protein derived from whole blood, centrifuged to remove red blood cells. PRP therapies have been used for a variety of medical and aesthetic indications for over 30 years. Aim. The aim of this paper is to present the effectiveness of PRP in the treatment of face, neck and cleavage wrinkles. Material and method. The questionnaire study was conducted in the group of 50 female patients, who underwent the procedure of PRP injection in different wrinkles. The survey was conducted in the period from December 2021 to March 2022. The questionnaire included 28 questions. Results. The PRP injection procedure was performed mainly by a cosmetologist or a doctor. Among the surveyed women, the main motivation to use the PRP treatment was the desire to nourish and improve the appearance of the skin of the face, neck or cleavage. The vast majority of respondents reported that they had been interviewed prior to the procedure to exclude contraindications for PRP treatment. Conclusions. The wrinkles´ treatment with platelet-rich plasma seems to be an effective method of their reduction. The injection of PRP is a safe method of wrinkles´ filling. Knowledge of contraindications and recommendations to PRP treatment in the group of medical personnel is quite good. Key words: wrinkles, platelet rich plasma, effectiveness |
