Summary
The modern shampoo market offers, for each type of hair or dermatological problems with the skin of head (hair), appropriately formulated shampoos, which differ in the proportion of surfactants and auxiliary substances, the type of plant extracts and the pharmacotherapeutic profile of phytochemicals. A comparative analysis was carried out, i.e. the structure and type of surfactants included in the washing base, classes of auxiliary substances determining the care value and viscosity of the preparations and preservatives that protect the product against fungi and bacteria. The basic ingredients of shampoos are water, betaines, high molecular weight auxiliary substances (polymers), biologically active agents and preservatives. The advantage of surfactants is their very well skin tolerance, insensitivity to hard water and obtaining a good washing and foaming effect. The application profile is determined by an extract, contains dermatologically active classes of phytochemicals. The manufacturer does not indicate neither the type of the extract (water, glycolic or oil macerate) nor its percentage in the product. From the order of the prescription, it can be assumed that the concentration of phytochemicals at the interface during washing the head (hair) is at the homeopathic level.
