Summary
Silicon is recognized as the element of life and beauty. It occurs mainly in the earth´s crust, which contains nearly 28% of silicon. It is essential for the life of both plants, animals and humans. This element is one of many trace elements necessary for the proper functioning of the body. It occurs mainly in the connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, muscles, bones and mucous membranes, capillaries, heart valves, skin and many other parts of the body. Currently, silicon compounds have a number of applications in cosmetology. Various forms of silicon, both inorganic and organic, are used in beauty cosmetology, nursing cosmetology and therapeutic cosmetology. The wide and varied use of silicon emphasizes, above all, its important functions in human life, as well as various possible applications in cosmetology.
