Hyaluronic acid is widely used in medicine. Hyaluronic acid, through its hygroscopic properties, helps to camouflage aging processes by filling fine, superficial wrinkles or reducing the expressiveness of natural folds. Aim. The aim of the study is to analyze patients´ knowledge about the hyaluronic acid injection procedure, considering the possibility of side effects. Material and methods. The conducted study was a survey research. The questionnaire contains 33 questions. 147 patients were qualified to the study: 143 females (97%) and 4 males (3%). Due to inconsiderable size of the male group, only the female group was subjected to further analysis. Results. The analysis of the site of hyaluronic acid injection showed that almost half of the patients (45%) underwent the filling procedure in more than one site. Most often, patients decided to inject the area around the mouth and nasolabial folds. More than half of the respondents replied that they are satisfied with the hyaluronic acid filling procedure and would recommend the hyaluronic acid filling procedure to their friends, considering this procedure as completely safe. Conclusions. The most common injected with hyaluronic acid sites are mouth area and nasolabial folds. The hyaluronic acid injection procedure gives satisfactory results.
